Examinations

For access to degree courses, your basic knowledge will be tested.

If you fail the test, you can still enrol in the course, but you will be assigned additional training obligations (OFAs). You will therefore have to fill in the gaps in your preparation by the end of the first year of the course.

You will have to make up for any gaps in your preparation by the end of the first year.

If you do not present yourself for the initial knowledge test, you will not be able to enter the 1st year study plan. In the case of unsuccessful OFAs, you will not be able to enter the 2nd year syllabus.

What is the degree

This is the pathway comprising all the educational activities (lectures, workshops, etc.) that you have to undertake in order to obtain your degree. Some activities are compulsory, others must be chosen from several options, and others are free choice. The study plan must be completed each year. Filling in the study plan, within the set deadlines and correctly, is indispensable for you to be able to enrol and take your exams.

Study plans are filled out between September and October exclusively online from Online Services for students.

The office that manages the entry of the study plan into student careers is the Sportello Unico.

If you have any difficulties in filling in the form, you can rely on the support of the student tutors, who work in Aula O in Via Balbi 4.

What is a CFU

A Credito Formativo Universitario (CFU) is the Italian equivalent of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One CFU corresponds to an average of 25 hours of work, including classroom lectures, labs, projects, and independent preparation.

Part-time enrollment

In the fact sheet for each course published on the UniGe website, you will find information on the objectives and content, bibliography, course lecturer, examination procedures, and reception times.

Study plan

In case of difficulties in filling in you can avail yourself of the support of the student tutors, who hold reception at Room O in Via Balbi 4.

Teaching sheets

In the fact sheet of each teaching published on the UniGe website you will find information about the objectives and content, bibliography, lecturer in charge of the course, examination methods.

Class schedule

You can consult the calendar of examination dates on the Course of Study website under "Students" > Examination Calendar.
. To find out the classroom in which the exams will be held, please consult the Easyacademy portal a few days before the exam.

Registration for examinations is compulsory and must generally be done at least 5 days before the date of the call for which you wish to register (or other deadline set by the lecturer).
. Registration must be carried out online via the Online Student Services portal. From here you can view the examinations that have been included in the study plan and for which you can book an exam of your choice. In addition, you can view exams for which you have already made a booking and cancel your booking if necessary.

Caution:If you decide not to turn up for an appeal, you must cancel your booking. If you do so after the closing date for exam registration, please also remember to notify the lecturer, at his or her email address.

Tutor Students

The tutors are a point of reference for students, especially freshmen: they are available for assistance in compiling study plans and other paperwork, such as filling out degree applications.

Guidance tutors are available every week in Balbi 4 (lecture room O, ground floor) and online, on the Teams platform; teaching tutors provide support in the preparation of examinations or individual teaching units and can also provide support in the drafting aspects of final examinations.
