OVERVIEW

Vascular Diagnostics in Neurology is based on different Instruments: Neuroimaging and Neurosonology.

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, the student should be able to describe the main diagnostic tools used to study the physiology and vascular pathology of the Central Nervous System and to explicate the main practical applications.

TEACHING METHODS

All lessons include a theoretical section and a practical part, mainly centered on ultrasonic diagnostics both on the normal and on the patient affected by vascular disesae, as they take place directly in the Neurosynology Laboratory

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Basic notions on brain circulation

Anatomy and Physiology of Brain Circulation

Main diagnostic tools used in clinical practice

Description of the main circulatory disorders of the Brain

Main use of different diagnostic tools (Neuroimaging, Neurosynology) in vascular diseases.

RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

At the end of each lesson is delivered to the students  a powerpoint file that contains briefly the main points discussed during the lesson

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The verification of the learning takes place through the only final exam that aims to ensure the student's actual acquisition of expected learning outcomes. To pass the exam, the student should obtain  score of not less than 18/30 and must demonstrate:
