OVERVIEW

Plastic Reconstructive Surgery is, in Dentistry, of paramount importance in dealing with problems related to substance loss, congenital malformations, or aesthetic defects. It is aimed at achieving the rebalancing of the functionality and health of the oral cavity, as well as of the harmony of the smile.

Acquire the methodological basis of the study topic and know the specific applications in Dentistry

Provide the student with the basics of major pathologies of reconstructive plastic surgery.

 

- acquire basic knowledge on the main reconstructive methods used in plastic surgery, grafts and flaps;

- acquire specific knowledge on the main reconstructive methods for repairing acquired, post-traumatic and oncological substance losses, particularly in the cervix-facial region;

- acquire knowledge about the major congenital malformations of the face, the way and timing of treatment.

- acquire knowledge on the main non-surgical methods in the aesthetics of the perioral region

TEACHING METHODS

Teaching takes place in 10 hours with lectures, exercises and discussion of scientific articles that involve a strong interaction between teacher and students.
