The course of European Private Law is divided in two parts. The first part deals with EU consumer law and policy. The second part deals with the private enforcement of EU competition law. Both parts focuses both on substantial and procedural issues (in particular with respect to injunctive and compensatory collective redress mechanisms).
The objective of the course is to provide the student with an in depth understanding of EU consumer law and policy and of the private enforcement of EU competition law.
After having attended the course and having passed the exam the student should have gained a good understanding of the theory of European Private Law and of its practical relevance today.
Particular attention is dedicated to complex litigation both in the field of consumer law and competition law.
