The course (for three-year degree students) proposes an initial approach to artistic sources and historiography as well as militant and scientific criticism of figurative arts by means of study files and anthology passages.
The course aims to give an in-depth analysis of the relations between writing, literature, historiography and artistic artefacts and, with the help of examples, it demonstrates the synergy between history of art and history of art criticism.
In each teaching unit will be presented individual cards on aulaweb that contain pieces of literature and art criticism enriched by images, ideas, videos and self-assessment tests.
Ability to understand and interpret a text of artistic historiography.

Works of art and texts
The exam programme envisages the study of 15 study files that connect artistic artefacts with the artistic literature that refers to them.
These texts will be made available on Aulaweb at the end of each lecture. Students are required to attend lectures.

All class schedules are posted on the EasyAcademy portal.
Assessment will be undertaken by means of an oral test. During the year, students will be given self-evaluation and evaluation tests during lectures.
Each study file posted on Aulaweb will be accompanied by an online exercise.
At the end of the course students must demonstrate that they know how to build a critical exegesis of a proposed artistic work.
The exam will be oral.
Registration on the Aulaweb teaching planform is obligatory in order to access the study files.
