Application of ecological theory to simple ecological investigations (real cases) to developping the capacity of understanding ecological problems and elaborating and rendering information useful for the study, characterization and management of ecosystems.
The texts of the exercises are distributed in the classroom and are available in AulaWeb / Teams. The resolution of the exercises is guided by the teacher, who also provides suggestions for the development of a personal comment by the individual student.
The distribution of the exercises can be altered (especially in relation to anti-COVID19 measures) and exercises will be carried out remotely and delivered to the teacher, through aulaweb.
Please refer to the specific AulaWeb application for teaching for any updates due to changes in the health and epidemiological situation.
Climatology: climatograms and shadow thermograms. Space distribution: wild boars in the province of La Spezia. Population growth models. World human population growth. Phase diagram: prey-predator system. Ecological niche: bivalves of the sands. Measurement of diversity: indices of wealth, dominance, diversity, and equity. Species area curve: soil arthropods. K-dominance curves: populations of coastal terrigenous mud. Biocenotica: Lepidoptera in different plant associations. Indicator species: populations of coastal terrigenous sludge. Trophic levels and food pyramids. Calculation of the trophic level of an organism. Qualitative reconstruction of trophic network: reef population. Quantitative model of trophic network: platform benthos. Spatial resilience: populations of coastal terrigenous sludge.
The texts of all exercices are available on AulaWeb/Teams.
Office hours: The reception of the students will be arranged directly with the teacher.
