    AIMS AND CONTENT

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Knowledge of the evolution of thought and psychiatric rehabilitation practice with the use of a correct personal language in the psychiatric field.

    Knowledge of the concepts of prevention strategies in mental health.

    Knowledge of consultation psychiatry.

    Ability to critically integrate clinical and scientific knowledge.

    TEACHING METHODS

    Teaching methods through lectures and clinical cases with a wide debate on the issues addressed

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT

    The evolution of psychiatric thought and practice, with particular reference to the organization of mental health after Basaglia law. New legislation for the implementation of involuntary treatment, the state of necessity and the involuntary health check.

    Prevention in medicine and mental health: primary, secondary and tertiary prevention with particular attention to the prevention of suicide (clinical, socio-demographic and environmental variables).

    Consultation or liason psychiatry: advantages and disadvantages in the hospital.

    Clinical research in psychiatry: use of pubmed and difference between cross-sectional and longitudinal studies (prospective or follow-up). Knowledge about difference between guidelines (recommendation grade and level of evidence) and consensus.

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

    The final exam will be performed orally with questions on the program provided.

    The evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths, with weighted average between the several disciplines of the Integrated Course.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    Assessment of knowledge will take place with one or more questions, which will require the ability to know how to integrate the knowledge learned.

    The clinical and scientific reasoning skills will be enhanced.
