The teaching activities allow the student to: - acquire knowledge on the economics of taxation in theory and in practice and on the Italian tax system - identify the reasons and modalities of state intervention in the welfare sectors (pensions, health, social assistance) - understand the reasons and the economic effects of public debt - understand the objectives and effects of the European economic governance - acquire knowledge on the status and prospects of Italian public finance
The training activity is divided into lectures, interactive teaching, guided study, practical exercises and seminar activities
A) Institutional part: - Theory and practice of taxation - Public spending on the Welfare State - Public debt - Public finance in Italy - The Italian tax system B) Seminar part: Insights on current topics of economy and public finance.

For students attending the learning assessment includes two written tests during the course and an oral exam at the end of the course. The two written tests refer to different parts of the course program. For non-attending students the verification consists only of the oral exam. Questions about the contents of the program and graphic exercises. The Examining Board is designated by the Department Council (DISPO) and chaired by the course professor.
