The course is aimed at students who approach the language within a concrete field of action. Absolute beginners will be offered strategies to promote understanding, expression and interaction. Advanced students can agree with the teacher the attendance of lettorato. At the end of the course the student will have reached the B1 level of the European Reference Framework for Languages. The course is annual.
The aim of the course is the study of the main communicative structures and functions of Spanish with particular attention to the language of politics through the analysis of the most significant moments in the contemporary history of Spain and Latin America.
The course (8 and 9 CFU) aims at understanding both the linguistic and cultural content that allows the student to use them in relation to the chosen course of study to which they are linked thanks to the contextualization of linguistic phenomena in the contemporary world. Through language we will stimulate reflection on the social and political contexts of the different areas of study to provide the tools for reading the international environment to which they refer in a continuous confrontation with the Italian, European and non-European contexts. The level of competence achieved in the three-year degree will allow the student to face integration into the world of work thanks to the ability to communicate information and suggest solutions to their interlocutors’ problems as well as to face the continuation of their university career thanks to the consolidation of basic language skills. As for the three-year learning outcomes, the student will have a linguistic repertoire sufficient to explain the salient points of a concept and express thoughts on abstract or cultural topics. They will know, despite the errors, how to express themselves clearly and expose a simple and sequential narration. (Level B1 CEFR)
The student must possess the basic metalinguistic terminology; must be able to recognize and classify the parts of discourse based on criteria pertaining to the morphological structure, the semantic value, the function. Strategic and referential skills are required, which will be further developed favoring the ability to use grammatical skills.
During the first semester in which lessons will be held at a distance, it is essential that students communicate with the teacher through the Teams (code: uxa6s3t) and Aulaweb platforms and e-mail.Lessons are accompanied by the use of the Aulaweb platform where the topics dealt with in class are inserted from time to time. For the purely linguistic part, faced with the help of lecturers, students attending and not attending will be based on the indicated textbook.Students in possession of a language certificate corresponding to level B1 or higher issued are exempt from the written test.
In order to encourage an initial literacy, language lessons (lettorato) will begin one month before the course.
The highlights of the political, economic, institutional and cultural history of contemporary Spain with particular regard to current events. In-depth analysis will be proposed on some Latin American countries.

If the evaluation of the three tests is refused, the student can do the traditional written exam (consisting of two tests) starting from the first useful date. If the evaluation of the first test (spelling competence) is less than 15/30 the student will not be able to take the second test, even though he can re-appear at the next exam session. The oral exam will focus on the discussion in the language of the contents proposed in class and available on Aulaweb.
