The first part of the course provides the basic elements of cultural anthropology. In the second part, some aspects relating to artistic processes will be explored, from an anthropological point of view. Different concepts of "art" and "cultural heritage" and examples of "translation" of objects and events produced in different societies will be examined. The third part will deal with the theme of music, in particular pop music and its relationship with society.
The course intends in the first part to provide some basic elements of anthropology also useful for the acquisition of 24 credits for the TIF. In the second part we will focus on the reading that the discipline gives the concept of cultural heritage in Western culture and on the visions that other companies may have of their heritage, analyzing different forms of expression in a comparative key.
It is hoped that at the end of the course students will be able to face issues related to art with a new and comparative perspective.
