The laboratory aims at: revising basic contents in arithmetics, probability and statistics; developing linguistic competences (text analysis and production); developing competences in planning, implementing, analysing teaching activities and carrying out efficient assessment strategies.
The laboratory, conceived in connection with the course, promotes the development of didactical competences concerning the teaching and learning of mathematics and the design, implementation, analysis and assessment of teaching sequences. More specifically, the laboratory will address: representations in problem solving; the formulation of the problem; critical analysis of didactical resources (textbooks, etc)
Individual and group work on worksheets and class discussions.
Additive and subtractive structures; proto-conceptualizations of operations (for kindergarten); conceptual aspects of arithmetic operations and their treatmente, in connection with solving problems (for primary school).
Basic element of probability and descriptive statistics.
The aforementioned contents will be treated in reference to the current National Guidelines and to the related teaching and learning problems, with a focus on linguistic and representational aspects.
Analysis of textbooks, teaching activities and assessment items will be performed.
Worksheets and reading materials will be provided during the course.
