This course is complemented by "lettorato" (language practice courses) - information on this point are available through the Aulaweb of the course.

At the end of the course, the students will have acquired deep knowledge and expertise in the field of French discourse analysis, both in terms of meta-linguistic analysis tools and thematic aspects, including different media languages.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- know and remember the main notions concerning French discourse analysis;
- know and remember the main notion concerning metaphor studies;

- identify rethorical and argumentative strategies in texts, most notably as far as the persuasive functions of metaphors in texts are concerned.
Students will also have acquired basic skills in corpus analysis.
Practical exercises: at the end of the courses, students will be able to understand and analyse media texts and discourses in French (C1 level of the Common Framework) , most notably as far as linguistic carachteristics of journalistic and audiovisual discourses are concerned.
C1 level of the Common European Framework
