The course aims to provide macroeconomic and microeconomic models of Labour Economics, that may help solve some of the current labour market issues.
Lectures, focus groups, student’s research
Part I (lectures):
- labour market equilibrium in neoclassical economics
- Keynesian unemployment theory and policies
- labour market in new classical macroeconomics and neokeynesian economics
- labour market: heuristics and biases
- labour market institutions, trade unions, bargaining
- unemployment, precarious job, labour policies
- flexicurity
Part II ( lectures and student’s research):
- unemployment and globalization, international wage gap, migration
- working poor
- participation, discrimination, segregation, unequal opportunities
- female employment and fertility
- investment in education
- matching in labour market
- youth unemployment, N.E.E.T
