    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The course aims the deepening of phenomena linked to the governance of companies and public administrations, developing in particular the issues of planning, programming and monitoring and the use of related IT tools.

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The course aims to analyze planning and control systems of public organizations. In particular it considers the evolution that have undergone theories, methods and tools of planning and control in public organizations.

    TEACHING METHODS

    The course will be held during the second semester and is divided into lessons aimed at illustrating, also through seminars, the topics of the course related to the different types of public organizations

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT

    • From New Public Management to Public Governance.
    • The characteristics of public services and the theory of public value.
    • Planning and control in the public sector.
    • The accounting information system of public organizations.
    • The accounting harmonization process: the general accounting principles and applied accounting principles.
    • Measurement and assessment of performance in public organizations.

    RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

    The textbooks will be provided during the course.

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

    Oral exam.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

    The final grade is based on an oral exam. The oral exam is designed to verify that students understand and are able to effectively communicate the planning and control system of public organizations, with particular reference to the budget system and accounting information tools.

    In the summer and winter sessions, the exam can be sustained a maximum of two times.
