A complex 12 credits course, which includes 4 classes: Russian-theory; LSP translation; Translation editing; Interpreting.
The course aims to develop knowledge of Russian at both declarative and procedural level, particularly improving students' abilities in bilingualism, bilingual switching, LSP translation, consecutive & liaison interpreting. Students will be also provided by self-training techniques.
The theoretical course is dedicated to the Russian "gariki" of Igor' Guberman. All the tecniques of the Target text will be analyzed together with the printed translation as a standard for an individual project: each student selects a corpus of untranslated gariki and works with the class team at the translation project, looking for f-equivalent correspondence (match of register, violations, rethoric elements).

Office hours: During the the first semester, students hours at university are suspended. Erasmus/foreign students too can talk with the teacher (in English, Italian or Russian) directly by whatsapp: Prof. Salmon will comunicate her cellphone number by mail on request.

The final exam includes 5 tests:
Theoretical course: 1) written test of Russian Language (1 hour; 4 or 5 exercises), the content is strictly consistent with the class training; 2) sight translation from Italian into Russian (max 10 min).
LSP translation: 3) written translation into Russian (1 hour, no dictionaries), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
Translation editing: 4) written translation into Russian (1 hour, no dictionaries), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
Interpreting: 5) interpreting performance (simulation) in consecutive translation from Russian into Italian (max. 10 minuts), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
