Prerequisites (for future units)
A complex 12 credits course, which includes 4 classes: Russian-theory; LSP translation; Translation editing; Interpreting.
The course aims to develop knowledge of Russian at both declarative and procedural level, particularly improving students' abilities in bilingualism, bilingual switching, LSP translation, consecutive & liaison interpreting. Students will be also provided by self-training techniques.
The theoretical course is dedicated to the Russian "gariki" of Igor' Guberman. All the tecniques of the Target text will be analyzed together with the printed translation as a standard for an individual project: each student selects a corpus of untranslated gariki and works with the class team at the translation project, looking for f-equivalent correspondence (match of register, violations, rethoric elements).
