The laboratory consists of 25 hours of individual and/or group study and has the dual objectives of consolidating students’ English skills and helping them prepare for the Lingua Inglese (base) (66937) course.
Individual exercises online and/or classwork in order to allow students to acquire and improve basic language skills and express themselves in authentic English.
The specific aims and learning outcomes vary depending on your starting level (see below).
It is assumed that the laboratory will be taught in the classroom; failing this (restrictions due to the pandemic), the same arrangements will apply but with distance learning (Teams platform).
Assessment test as part of SEF entrance exam or during the first lesson. Students who do not reach A2 level will attend the lessons and do classwork. Those who attain A2 or better will still attend (as long as lessons are in the faculty and not via remote learning) but will work individually, doing exercises consistent with their level as assessed. There will be 3 groups, each with a different timetable (2 hours a week per group); details of the timetable and group subdivision will be announced in due course on Aulaweb.
There is no set text as this laboratory entails the use of language websites. However, false beginners and others with particular problems in English are advised to purchase the following book of grammar rules and exercises: Raymond Murphy, “Essential Grammar in Use”, Cambridge University Press (available online – e.g. Amazon.it ).
Office hours: By appointment on Teams or by writing to justinrosenberg@libero.it
Office hours: After lessons or by appointment via aulaweb and email

All class schedules are posted on the EasyAcademy portal.
Though there is no formal exam, after the 25 hours of tuition students will do the assessment test again in order to ascertain their level and measure how much they have improved.
