The course is aimed to increase the student's capacity in the understanding and processig of the english language used in scientific articles taken from original sources such as scientific american new scientist and newspaper publications. This objective is to be approached by using single and groupwork strategies in research on the internet for synonymous word/phrase meaning, question/answer procedures and basic summarising exercises..
THE COURSE WILL BE ENHANCED BY REGULAR GRAMMATICAL LESSONS IN THE LINGUISTIC DOMAINS FREQUENTLY ENCOUNTERED IN THE CHOSEN ARTICLES, PLUS STANDARD ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING TO GUARENTEE STUDENT CONFIDENCE WITH THE LANGUAGE ITSELF.
