PRESENTAZIONE

The objective of the course is to ensure that students have command of the main tools used in public finance analysis in simple and advanced theoretical models. Students are introduced to economics of information and to “mathematical modes of analysis” and provided with sufficient command of such analysis to enable them to undertake advanced work in areas such as public economics, health economics, fiscal policy, credit and insurance markets.

OBIETTIVI E CONTENUTI

OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI

An important element of the course is the two (written) intermediate tests that form the continuous
assessment element, one in the middle and one at the end of the course. They will also provide
feedback on the development of the student's understanding.

Students can (on a voluntary basis) organize themselves in groups and work on a project. The 'project work' will be carried on by the students, under the supervision of the lecturer.

The written exam will evaluate the knowledge of the contents, the problem solving ability and the correct use of economic specialized language.
The group work will be used to evaluate the autonomy of the students and their team working ability. Moreover, by the project work, students will demonstrate their ability in understanding international economic literature and their skills in a English presentation .

Alternatively, students are assessed in (written) final examinations.

Attendance to the course is not required and there is no difference between attending and nonattending students.
Students are free to choose whether to be assessed in English or Italian
