The student is expected to be able to study the properties of dynamic systems, numerically simulate their evolutions, formulate and solve simple problems of mathematical programming.
The goal of the module is to make the student aware of basic notions of dynamic systems modelling and properties as well as of optimization with particular reference to the area of safety engineering. The main topics are the following: linear and nonlinear dynamics systems, state equations, basics on linear and nonlinear programming. A secondary goal is to make students able to numerically simulate dynamics systems and use the main solvers of optimization problems.
Oral examination.
Essential notions of dynamic systems and linear/nonlinear programming with some application examples to transportation and logistics.
