The nautical engineer combines the technical skills of a naval engineer with the aesthetic requirements essential to ensure a vessel's design is a full commercial success.

In Italy, with its 7500 km of coastline, there are nearly 1,000 boatyards, 550 marinas with a total of 160,000 berths. Italy, since 2008, has been a world leader in the production of motor yachts over 30 meters in length, and has always been in the top 3 places in the world for production of smaller boats.

The University Pole 'G. Marconi'is the only one in Italy to offer nautically oriented degree courses and activities for constant professional updating such as conferences, workshops and various events related to the sector; and it is a campus surrounded by greenery equipped with spaces and services that encourage study and socialization. Every student can be involved in boat building and refitting, participate in regattas and convivial moments related to the sea.

What will you study

The degree program optimally combines the skills of the various departments involved, enabling the student to acquire the basic knowledge of an industrial engineer combined with the peculiar knowledge of the naval engineer.  This is also complemented by teachings that provide the fundamentals of architectural composition in order to train a professional figure complete with all aspects that contribute to the successful creation of recreational boats.

The teaching is developed with faculty lecturesand design workshops.

In the third and final year, students undertake a stage lasting about 150 hours at shipyards or design studios.

The thesis test consists of the design of a boat within 24 meters under the supervision of the Course of Study faculty.

After graduation
