In today's context, language teaching constitutes an increasingly important and integrated element in educational processes (as in the case of international mobility) and therefore up-to-date and specialised skills are required. The rapidly expanding and internationalising publishing sector requires foreign language experts capable of relating to the target cultures, as well as translating and adapting texts and content in foreign languages.

The field of media, especially digital media, is constantly evolving, making the creation of content also in foreign languages a fundamentally important contribution. 

What will you study

The Master's degree programme in Modern Languages and Literatures for Teaching, Publishing and Digital Media is divided into three pathways, i.e. recommended study plans: Translation, Teaching and Media. Each of them usually revolves around the in-depth study of two languages of specialisation, chosen from French, English, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and German.

The course is divided into the following tracks:

provides students with specific competences in the fields of literary and non-fiction translation, with particular attention to criticism and literary history, the publishing world, creative uses of language (interlinguistic and inter-semiotic translation, methodologies of narration), and technologies supporting publishing and translation.

Focuses on the cultural industry and the production of content for cultural dissemination and information (institutional sites, newsletters, info- and edutainment), with the development of a sensitivity for the relationship between literary/cultural heritage and its presence, dissemination and re-functionalisation in the contemporary world.

After graduation

The Master's degree in Modern Languages and Literatures for Teaching, Publishing and Digital Media allows graduates to carry out activities with a high level of responsibility in all professional fields in which a solid humanistic culture and a secure command of foreign languages are required, such as publishing houses, study centres, Italian cultural institutes abroad, cultural institutions and foundations, editorial offices, including digital ones, and schools (after attending specific courses).
