What it does

It is in charge of performing the functions assigned to it by the University Statute and the University Teaching Regulations:

  • coordinates the committees and those responsible for the activities of the CoS;
  • convenes the ACS and submits the SUA-CdS, the CdS Annual Monitoring and the Cyclical Review Reports (RRC) for approval;
  • communicates to the ACS the results of all the activities carried out by the Commissions and the various heads of activities.

What it does

  • compiles and updates the Single Annual Form (SUA-CdS) within the stipulated deadlines;
  • analyses and completes the Annual Monitoring Form (SMA);
  • draft the Cyclical Review Report and monitor the progress of the proposed improvement activities;
  • analyses reports and requests from students, lecturers and administrative staff in accordance with the procedures established by the University;
  • promotes a culture of educational quality and self-assessment within the degree programme;
  • analyses teaching evaluation questionnaires, Almalaurea questionnaires and other sources of information (e.g. questionnaires from host organisations or companies);
  • analyses the report of the Joint School Committee;
  • monitors the indicators relating to the degree programme;
  • organises and manages consultations with the PI.

The Quality Assurance Committee also acts as the Teaching Committee and therefore:

  • verifies the consistency between credits and teaching load, and progression across semesters;
  • periodically reviews the entry requirements and the procedures for interim and final assessments;
  • periodically reviews the study programme on the basis of data and recommendations arising from monitoring activities and organises its delivery, whilst also taking into account the requirements of facilities and services;
  • organises and manages coordination between training programmes;
  • checks that the information in the course descriptions is complete;
  • verifies the adequacy of teaching facilities and student services.

What does it do?

The CPDS is primarily responsible for:

  • coordination and support for degree programmes in the preparation of the SUA-CdS, the Annual Monitoring Report and the Cyclical Review Report (verifying that these have been drafted within the specified deadlines, assessing their completeness and keeping them up to date, and, where appropriate, suggesting suitable amendments; document review activities within the School’s Quality Assurance Committees and providing relevant feedback);
  • coordination and support for the Department in the preparation of the SUA-RD, SUA-TM or similar documents (verifying that they have actually been drafted within the assigned deadlines, assessing their completeness and updating them, and, where appropriate, suggesting suitable amendments);
  • coordination and support for the coordinator and the academic board of PhD programmes (where applicable) in all activities relating to the quality assurance of the PhD programmes themselves. ensuring the proper two-way flow of information between the PQA, the Department and the PhD programmes and degree programmes affiliated with it;
  • ensuring that degree programmes obtain the report from the Joint Commission and incorporate its observations;
  • ensuring that the degree programmes and the Department collect and analyse students’ views on teaching activities;
  • promotion, coordinated by the PQA, of training activities on quality assurance for staff attached to the Department;
  • support and monitor the implementation of any other activities provided for in the PQA, including participation in working groups on specific issues;
  • on the instructions of the PQA, drafting an annual report on the activities outlined above.
