The course in brief Presentation The Ph.D. in Chemistry and Materials Science and Technology was established in 2013 from the previous and eponymous Doctoral School, which was established in 2005, and also includes two curricula (out of five) in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology. The Ph.D. aims to train highly qualified researchers in all research fields of basic (analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, industrial chemistry, organic chemistry) and applied chemistry (pharmaceutical chemistry, food and cosmetic chemistry, pharmaceutical technologies, innovative chemical processes, environmental chemistry) as well as materials science, including nanochemistry. The doctoral program includes the following five independent curricula: Chemical Science and Technology (STC). Pharmaceutical, Food and Cosmetological Sciences Materials Science and Technology Nanochemistry Drug Discovery and Nanobiotechnologies Training Objectives. PhD students will attain additional knowledge and skills to those acquired during previous undergraduate levels. They will be instructed to address and recognize problems related to the specific areas of research, to obtain and assimilate independently the necessary knowledge, and to employ it fruitfully for problem solving. They will develop the ability to work in teams, to exchange skills on an interdisciplinary level, and to clearly disseminate, both written and oral, research results. The balance between acquiring skills and personally managing them will enable them to carry out independently relevant research at national and multinational companies, research institutions, or universities.
