The thesis is a written paper on a mathematical topic that you will prepare under the supervision of a university lecturer, with whom you can agree on the topic according to your interests. You can choose to write it in Italian or English.

You will also have the opportunity to do your Master's thesis by developing a project on a problem proposed by a company or by collaborating directly with company research teams on topics of interest to them. In this case, the academic supervisor may be joined by an external expert.

The initial objective of the final examination is to test your ability to produce a paper on advanced topics in the subject areas of mathematics. In order to test your ability to present these topics clearly and with mastery, the final examination consists of two stages:

• A discussion in front of a panel of experts

• A concise presentation of the thesis (maximum duration: 20 minutes) before a committee, followed by any questions.
