What is In order to be admitted to the degree examination, you must have obtained all the credits stipulated in the education system of your degree course. The final examination consists of an experimental thesis lasting no less than six monthscorresponding to 31 CFU. The results of the activity will be set out in a written dissertationin English (with a summary in Italian) and elaborated in an original manner by the student underthe guidance of the supervisor and discussed orally before a committee made up ofteachers from the BSc and/or experts in the field.You can start the thesis once you have acquired 44 CFUs in your study plan and carry it out at:the research laboratories of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry at UniGeexternal facilities, national or foreign (universities, public or private laboratories or research bodies, public or private industries)Read the final examination regulations for more information.Seminar activitiesA pre-degree seminar day will be established, possibly unique for all candidates in the same degree session. Pre-graduation seminars will normally be held one week before the date of graduation. The presentation will be in English. The session is normally public, but if the experimental work is of a confidential nature it may be held in camera, at the request of the supervisor, with a confidentiality agreement signed by the commissioners. The candidates will have:30 minutes for the presentation of the thesis;20-30 minutes for the discussion.At least 4 days before the date set for the pre-degree seminar, the candidate must upload the thesis onto the appropriate portal so that it can be read in depth by the Degree Committee. Following the pre-degree seminar, the candidate has 3 days to make any changes to the thesis suggested by the Commission and to upload the revised version of the thesis in final form.You can view the Regulations for the academic year 2026-27
