1. Read the admission requirements

You can only enter this course if you have earned a bachelor's degree or equivalent (pre-doctoral degree, university diploma - 3 years, direct school for special purposes - 3 years) and if you meet the following specific requirements.

Did you graduate abroad?

If you graduated abroad, your application for this Master's degree course must be pre-screened via UniGeApply, which has two different deadlines:

  • fall session from 26/11/2025 to 20/03/2026, for visa applicants
  • spring session for applicants already resident in Italy.

Applicants applying for a visa (fall session) must:

  • pay 30 euros to submit up to 2 applications on UniGeApply
  • apply for a student visa through the Universitaly portal.

Carefully consult the deadlines and the international registrations page of the Welcome Office.

In order to be able to enrol in a UniGe study course in Italian, you need to prove that you have at least B2 level knowledge of Italian. To do so, you can submit a certification or take a test.

Curricular requirements

You can access this course if:

  • you hold one of these degrees:
    • degree belonging to class L-17, Architectural Sciences
    • degree belonging to class 4, Architectural and building engineering sciences
    • a three-year university degree that permits the recognition of the 108 CFU relating to training activities indispensable for the class L-17 Architectural Sciences
    • Italian or foreign university degree that allows the recognition of the 108 CFU relative to the educational activities indispensable for the class L-17 Architectural Sciences
    • five-year single-cycle degree of class 4/S or LM-4, for the sole purpose of obtaining a second degree
  • know a language of the European Union, in addition to Italian, with a minimum level of B1. Knowledge must be certified in the syllabus or with a certificate issued by a certifying body (IELTS, TOEFL, PET)

If you are a graduating student in the L-17 Science of Architecture class (ex DM 270/2004), the curricular requirements consist of the acquisition of at least 154 out of 180 CFU by the date of the personal preparation test; only to appear at the last test, you must have acquired all the credits, except those for the final exam. 

For enrolment in the 2024/2025 academic year, you must graduate by the deadlines indicated by the University (EU and non-EU students with a foreign qualification must graduate by 15 August 2024).
