Transfer from another university

In an open access course

A student who comes from another national university and intends to transfer to the University of Genoa in an open access course must:

  1. submit a transfer application to the Student secretariat of the university of origin within thedeadline defined annually.
  2. pre-register for the chosen course and confirm your enrolment by the annually defined deadlines.

In a course with fixed number for the first time

A student intending to transfer to the University of Genoa in a course with a number of courses for the first time must:

  1. pre-register for the admission test to the chosen course within the deadlines indicated in the admission announcements
  2. pass the admission test and be successful in the competition (be in a useful position in the ranking for available places)
  3. apply for the nulla osta (consent to transfer) by sending an email to the Student Desk - Secretariats of reference
  4. submit a transfer application to the university of origin, attaching the authorisation obtained in Genoa
  5. confirm enrolment at the University of Genoa by the deadline provided by the announcements

Already enrolled in the same course with the same number of places at another university

Students intending to transfer to the University of Genoa, already enrolled in the same course programmed number at another university must:

  1. apply for the nulla osta (consent to transfer) by sending an email to the Student Desk - Secretariats reference
  2. The nulla osta is issued subject to the positive assessment of the request by the Course Council, which will take into account the availability of places for the course year to which the student may be admitted to continue studies.
    The interested party must send the request for authorisation to the Student Desk - Secretarial Office of reference by the  deadline defined annually by the University.
    (For incoming transfers relating to students who have been admitted to the University of Milan. (For incoming transfers relating to courses with a programmed number of places (years after the first year) may only be submitted following authorisation to be applied for at UniGe by the  by the deadline defined annually by the University.)
    For nationally-scheduled study courses: Medicine/Dentistry/Three-year degrees in the health professions/Architecture Sciences, the transfer authorisation is requested by following the procedure regulated by a specific notice published on the website of the courses themselves
  3. Enrol in the course of your choice by contacting the Student Desk - Secretarial Offices of reference.

Transfer to another university

In an open access course

Students enrolled at the University of Genoa who intend to transfer to another national university in an open access course must present transfer application
The application requires the payment of a transfer fee of € 200 and a € 16 fee payable via the online procedure.
The transfer application can be submitted from July onwards and within the deadlines for ordinary enrolment, in order not to incur late fees. The student must also meet the deadlines in force at the university of destination.

In a numbered course

Students wishing to transfer to another university for a course with a maximum number of places, must check the availability of places at the university of destination, which may issue a so-called nulla osta (permission to transfer); this document must be attached to the transfer application to be submitted as described above.

The student must also be able to transfer to another university if he/she wishes to do so.
