The academic year starts on 1 November and ends on 31 October of the following year.

It is divided into two semesters, which generally occupy the following time intervals:

• first semester, from October to January
• second semester, from March to June

The suspension days established at regional level for 2024/2025 are:


   23, 24, 27, 28, 30 and 31 December 2024
    2, 3, 4 January 2025
17, 18, 19 April 2025
    2, 3 May 2025

To these must be added the nationally established days of suspension of teaching and educational activities, which, in addition to Sundays, are:

    1 November 2024, All Saints' Day
    8 December 2024, Immaculate Conception
    25 December2024, Holy Christmas
    26 December 2024, Boxing Day
    1 January 2025, New Year's Eve
    6 January 2025, Epiphany
    Monday after Easter (21 April 2025)
    25 April2025, anniversary of the Liberation
    1 May 2025, Labour Day
    2 June 2025, National Republic Day
    24 June 2025, Patron Saint's Day

According to Article 25 of the Student Regulations, in force since 5 August 2022:
"The annual academic calendar shall be drawn up in observance of national holidays and school holidays as determined annually in the regional school calendar by order of the Ligurian Regional Government"
