For the assessment of personal preparation, the Board of Studies in Sport Sciences defines annually the methods (written test with multiple-choice questionnaire and/or interviews with the student) for testing preparation. The committees in charge of the tests ensure the adoption of consistent and constant assessment criteria.

Students with a qualification obtained abroad must compulsorily take the Italian language proficiency test organised by the University. Failure to pass this test will result in the awarding of supplementary educational activities offered by the University.
