The course intends to examine the History of Pedagogy, Education and School, presenting its scientific assets and knowledge paradigms.
The main course objective is providing specific knowledge and analytical tools to understand how the history of education and educational institutions are inherently connected to civil life. The course also aims methodological tools on finding sources and construing educational models.
The main objectives of the course consist in understanding and acquiring knowledge regarding the history of pedagogy, education and school, considering the meanings assumed within the historical horizon by the problems associated with self-formation, education and cultural instruction of the human being, together with the identity of the school, understood as a pedagogical environment. Moreover, another important objective of the course is to experiment and acquire some basic soft skills: personal competence, social competence and project creation expertise.
The lectures are in presence mode and involving the use of multimedia devices. Attending students can be divided into small groups to undertake research aimed at achieving the training objectives of the cours.
In particular, the methodologies used concern audio video creation and project based learning to work on basic transversal soft skills: functional alphabetic competence; personal competence; social competence and competence in design creation.
Approximately 5 or 10% of sources used in lectures well be in English.
The course aims to provide the basic lines of the history of education from ancient times to today, focusing particularly on the history of the educational imaginary. The lessons will show, also through particular paths - which can be explored by students individually or in small groups - how everything that happens in society has repercussions on education.
The specific objectives for Kindergarten students mainly concern the retrieval, analysis, interpretation and use of sources from the past and present of narratives (from orality to writing, from cartoons to apps, etc. .) dedicated to children from 3 to 6 years of age.
The specific objectives for Primary School students mainly concern the retrieval, analysis, interpretation and use of sources from the past and present of narratives (from orality to writing, from cartoons to apps, etc.) dedicated to boys and girls over 6 years of age.
