The course provides a solid background in industrial and mechanical plant topics and main manufacturing technologies, from design to process management and optimization.
The main purpose of the Mechanical Plants module is to provide students basic technical-economic knowledge of plant design and management through different qualitative and quantitative methodologies and techniques.
The theoretical part of the Manufacturing Technology module aims to introduce students to the basic concepts of metrology and product quality and the main manufacturing technologies. A series of practical activities aim to give students the ability to be able to apply them in practical laboratory examples.

As for the Mechanical Plants s module, the examination is conducted by written test (multiple-choice questionnaire).
Regarding the Manufacturing Technology module, the examination consists of:
The written test only applies to a single examination. There will be 3 examination calls available for the winter session (January-February) and 3 examination calls for the summer session (June, July and September). No special call will be granted outside the periods specified in the course regulations, except for working students enrolled part-time.
The assessment of the Mechanical Plants module is done by written test (multiple-choice questionnaire).
The assessment of the Manufacturing Technology module is carried out by means of an exercise, a written test and an oral examination. The student in the written test must demonstrate that he/she understands the topics explained in the lectures and solve problems from the definitions and exercises carried out in class. The reference topics of the written test are: machining and statistical quality control. The oral examination consists of a review of what has been learned and the ability to critically employ the models and concepts covered in the lecture.
