This course proposes to develop the basic knowledge in statistical physics.
Educational objectives are related to the problems of statistical physics of out-of- equilibrium systems. We will start with Callen's thermodynamics. The distinction will then be discussed between slightly out-of-equilibrium systems, with Onsager's fundamental rules (symmetry of the kinetic coefficients). At this juncture we will study some fundamental problems: the Seebeck effect, the Peltier effect Later Brownian motion, Boltzmann equation, linear response theory and hydrodynamic problems The aim of this course is to make students capable of tackling non-trivial problems in Statistical Physics. .

Towards the end of september.
Oral part. One question decided by the student and a second one decided by me.
The assessment method will be given by the promptness to the first question and skill to the second one.
