CODE 72342 ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 3 INGEGNERIA MECCANICA (L-9) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-IND/17 LANGUAGE Italiano TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: TECHNICAL AND ECONOMICAL FUNDAMENTALS OF INDUSTRIAL PLANTS OVERVIEW The training is based on an analysis of general feasibility That allows to define , through PHASES diversified , Elements Useful to Design , Construction and Operation of the system . The course aims to provide students Mechanical Engineers The conceptual aspects to study , Planning and managing THESE systems through a systemic approach , techniques and methods widely used in industry . AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Creating base for industrial plants engineer able to integrate designing and economics-management aspects over the entire lifecycle of complex plants. Thus the learning process is based on general feasibility studies allowing to define, through different phases, useful elements for designing, construction and operation of the system. The course aims to provide the mechanical engineering students a systemic approach, techniques and methodologies widely adopted in industrial context. TEACHING METHODS Lessons on powerpoint presentations in Italian/English language. Course book. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Plants and production systems. The role of industry and manufacturing at national level, insight on industrial policies and competitiveness. Industrial plants and production systems classification. The feasibility study: market analysis, product and process analysis, process flow analysis, layout, services, economical study of industrial proposition. Towards Intelligent Factory and the new models of advanced manufacturing. In particular: The international environment Industrial strategy and organization Competitiveness and industrial sustainability Feasibility study for industrial plants The intelligent factory World Class Manufacturing model Inventory management techniques Planning and balancing techniques for production lines Factory information systems Simulation and modelling of production systems Break-even point analysis Economical and financial aspects RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Armando Monte, “Elementi di impianti industriali”, IV edizione, 2009, Vol. 1-2 Arrigo Pareschi, "Impianti Industriali" TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD FLAVIO TONELLI Ricevimento: Tuesday 10-11 Thursday 14-16 Exam Board PIETRO GIRIBONE (President) FLAVIO TONELLI (President) LESSONS Class schedule PRODUCTION SYSTEMS DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Oral examination with written exercise on designing process.
