CODE 72373 ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 2 INGEGNERIA MECCANICA (L-9) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-IND/10 LANGUAGE Italiano TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: APPLIED THERMODYNAMICS, ENERGETICS AND HEAT TRANSFER AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO) The course has the following specific objectives: to give some fundamentals on heat transfer applied to energy transformation and production; to provide some general bases in the energetic field, in such a way the student can make correct options on the production and rational use of energy; to give the first elements on solar and nuclear energy TEACHING METHODS The course consists in theoretical lectures and numerical practices. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Fundamentals of heat transfer by conduction, convection and radiation with several application to power plant components with particular reference to heat exchangers. Primary and secondary energy sources. A world-wide and national survey on energy production and consumption. The use of solar energy at high, medium and low temperature. Fission and fusion nuclear energy. Problem of environmental pollution by fossil and nuclear fuel. Principles of psychrometrics. Psychrometric charts (Mollier - Carrier). Psychometric transformations.
