The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge for the analysis and understanding of the energy systems. In particular the plant lay-out, operating parameters and performances of the different systems will be analysed and compared. The methods to increase the plant efficiency will be presented and the critical aspects of the power plants management will be discussed.

Gas turbine power plants: configurations, operating parameters and performances. Combined cycle power plants and combined heat and power plants (CHP). Hydroelectric power plants.
