This course of studies aims at providing students with some knowledge on such classical sociological authors as Marx, Durkheim and Weber, and on the most relevant fields of studies of this discipline
Classes are held before the students .
The textbooks are: 1) Giddens, Capitalismo e teoria sociale. (Il Saggiatore); 2) Bagnasco, Barbagli, Cavalli, Corso di Sociologia (Il Mulino).

Exams are oral, are jointly held by two Professors, and concern any subject which has been discussed in the classroom or has been presented in either textbook.
Classes and exams take place in the Albergo dei Poveri. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 2.15 and 4 pm.
