Traditional lectures (48 hours) – Specific tutoring for foreign students is provided in addition to the course lectures.
The course deals with the history and dynamics of the relations between the United States and Europe during the XX and XXI century. After the analysis of transatlantic relations during the interwar period, it will focus on the Cold War period when a multitude of transatlantic links were created, extended and multiplied. Ranging from economic issues, to culture, to war, politics and diplomacy the course stresses the rise of American influence in Western Europe during the XX century and its gradual decline.
