The course deals with actors, processes and dynamics of social and political change in contemporary societies. The goal is to analyze the homogeneous and heterogeneous characters between different geoghraphical and cultural areas.

Starting from modernization’s theories the course deals with actors, processes and dynamics of political change in various geographical areas (Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, Asia). The goal is to analyse the relations between political change and social change processes by a comparative approach. Special attention is given to the transformation of this relationship by considering the social change of contemporary societies.

Oral examination. The evaluation criteria are: competence and fluency of argumentations, precision of scientific language, link capability between related subject, arguments in support of autonomous reasoning, synthesis capabilities.
