AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To provide a deeper knowledge on the manufacturing processes based on material removal, with particular regard to: modelling and analysis of chip formation, machine tools and their operations, NC and programming, economical optimisation of machining. Non-traditional machining processes, additive manufacturing and reverse engineering are also studied.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is based on lectures, numerical exercises and laboratory of machine tools.
