CODE 67640 ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 CREDITS 4 cfu anno 2 SCIENZE DELLA FORMAZIONE PRIMARIA (LM-85 bis) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MAT/04 LANGUAGE Italiano TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: MATHEMATICS I TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course aims at: 1) revising the concept of function, its uses and representations; 2) developing didactical competences related t mathematics teaching; 3) developing the competence of planning and implementing teaching sequences, performing critical reflections on practice and carrying out meaningful assessment strategies AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Developing mastery (with a view to teaching) of coordinate systems and of various forms of graphic representation of situations and phenomena, giving special attention to the logical and linguistic competences involved. Particular problems related to primary and nursery school will be taken into consideration TEACHING METHODS Laboratory-style lessons (individual work on worksheets + class discussions). Frequency of minimum 2/3 of the lessons is required. Participants are expcted to fill the worksheets, produce homeworks and, cyclically, to wrote down the notes of the lesson. Non-participant students are expected to fill the worksheets at home and send them to the teacher. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The concept of function as a key concept in mathematics. "Empirical" data: tables of experimental data and cartesian graphs; tasks of reading and creating graphs; reliability of a graph obtained by interpolation or extrapolation as a model for a phoenomeno; cartesian plane, cartesiona and polar coordinates; different ways of representing functions (tables, graphs, algebraic formulas...). The thoerey of conceptual fields by Vergnaud as a theoretical construct to frame the notion of "mathematical concept" and to link mathematical concpets and their didactical implementation. all the aforementioned contents will be presented in relation to the current National Giudelines and to the related teaching and learning processes, with a special focus on linguistic and representational aspects.
