The course is aimed at: revising basic contents in arithmetics, probability and statistics; developing didactical competences in mathematics teaching; developing competences in planning, implementing and critically analysing teaching units and carrying our efficient assessment strategies.
The aims of this part of the course are: A. to revise and further develop - according to educational aims related to teaching in grades K to 5 – the theme of arithmetic operations (particularly subtraction and division); B. to introduce basic statistics and probability notions, according to educational aims related to the approach to statistical and probabilistic thinking in grades K to 5.
Laboratory-style lessons (individual worksheets and class discussions).
Participant students are expected to fill the worksheets and do some homeworks. They will also be asked to write down, in groups, the nots of the lessons.
