We will deepen our understanding of the aspects and themes of the social history of the Nineteenth century in a transnational perspective. Particular will be the role of wars in the redesigning of social, cultural and of generis "borders". Other than conflicts, the course will take in examination the different historical categories of war (revolutions, class wars, civil wars)
Deliver the basic elements (methods - contents) for historical analysis meant to comprehend the complex nature of society in the modern age.
Frontal lessons with the aid of audio-visual sources.
Relevant themes of social history of the Nineteenth century in a transnational perspective. In particular: the social history of wars, the history of migrations, the history of women.
