CODE 67673 ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 3 SCIENZE DELLA FORMAZIONE PRIMARIA (LM-85 bis) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR FIS/01 LANGUAGE Italiano TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: DISCIPLINES CHEMISTRIES AND PHYSICAL TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The aim of the course "physics laboratory" is to introduce the first experimental elements based on the measurement and the ability to write a report on the experiment performed. The chosen topics are very general and can be useful also for the design of educational courses and include: force, Archimedes' principle, light vision and color, formation of images. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES the students will acquire skills for the critical analysis of teaching courses with physics topics for nursery and primary schools and to design original educational courses that take account results in physics education research. TEACHING METHODS Students will be engaged in performing laboratory experiments. The experiments will be performed in groups, possibly formed by not more than 4 students. Each group will then produce a report outlining the obtained results. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The topics of lab experiments include: a) Force (linear elongation of a spring and calibration of a dynamometer); b) Archimedes' principle (determination of the upward buoyant force, calculation of irregular volumes); c) light and color vision (properties of a light source and its spectrum, decomposition of light, additive and subtractive color synthesis); d) image formation (principle of lenses and composition of two lenses). RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Handouts will be given to students for the preparation of lab experiments TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD GIANANGELO BRACCO Ricevimento: Fixing an appointment with e-mail to "bracco@fisica.unige.it" EMANUELE FELICE PIANO Ricevimento: Fixing an appointment with e-mail to "piano@fisica.unige.it" Exam Board GIANANGELO BRACCO (President) NADIA PARODI (President) EMANUELE FELICE PIANO (President) LESSONS Class schedule DIDACTICS OF THE PHYSICAL (WORKSHOP) EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION write a report on lab experiments interview to describe the work done ASSESSMENT METHODS For the written part, the lab report for each lab experiment performed in group will be evaluated. For the oral session, the student should discuss about the lab experiments.
