OVERVIEW

The first part of the course is about the connection between cure and care, according to the recent developments of care ethics and  its educational implications.
The second deals with analysis of the competence of the P.E.;  ethics as core competence of care and rehabilitation practices within the National Health System; deontology and professional ethics 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO)

Knowledge: The ethics of care: foundations and developments; the connection between ethics of care and ethics of rights; ethical foundations and implications of the ICF; the connection deontology - professional ethics; E.P. ethical and deontological principles; the ethical dimension of an educational - rehabilitation project

Skills: context analysis capabilities according to ethical criteria; drawing up and management of the PEI within organized structures of the SNS

Competencies: implementation and development of ethical competence as a P.E.fundamental core competence; development of the relational dimension  listening and analysis of needs based; analysis and resolution of moral dilemmas emerging in the educational process of rehabilitation and professional practice

TEACHING METHODS

1. Lectures, at the beginning of the course, aimed at providing the conceptual tools, key words and expressions  

2. Interactive lessons based on students' questions and request. It is, also, provided lessons peer to peer

The lectures will be supported with the use of slides, films, testimonies that will be published in aulaweb

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Part I: the rights ethics and the care ethics; the ethical responsibility of P.E.; care and aid practices: ethical implications; the connection ethics - deontology

Part II: the P.E. ethics code; P.E. professional identity and  motivation; listening and empathic comprehension; the ICF: philosophical foundations and ethical implications; the setting specificity; the interprofessional relationships; the educational - rehabilitation project: ethical implications; ethics, deontology and professional ethics

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Oral

Examination intends to verify knowledge, skills and competencies acquired by students

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam is divided into two phases:

1. Test on the book Variazioni sulla cura                                                                                                                                           2.Test on the book L' educatore professionale. Finalità, metodologia, deontologia

Inside of both phases is provide for discussion of ethically significant  case studies
The students must obtain a score of at least 18/30 in each of the two phases
