The course examines the problems and scientific paradigms concerning the history of educational institutions.
Main objectives of the course consist in the acquisition of knowledge regarding history and systemic architecture of educational institutions, in relation to the idea of education of the human being and its conceptualizations in the history of Occident.
Acquisition of appropriate knowledge in relation to the scientific foundations of the history of educational institutions is aimed to understand and interpret – by a historical perspective – problems and changes that affect both the concept of education and the characters of contemporary educational institutions, in their history.
Lessons are conducted in the presence of the teacher and have mainly character of lectures. Within the course, group activities and seminars can be provided.
The course program will consist, mainly, in the following contents: the founding categories and objects of study in the history of educational institutions; macro- and micro- dimensions of the education system and its institutions; methodological paradigms and cognitive foundations of historical research into history of educational institutions; categories of self-formation, education and instruction in the history of educational institutions; the scientific-cognitive connection between the history of educational institutions and the history of pedagogy.

Ricevimento: Student Reception is weekly. During the second semester, reception takes place in Savona before and after the lessons, in the days of lessons. In the other periods, the reception takes place at the Genoa headquarters of the Department of Educational Sciences (Corso A. Podestà, 2 - Room DISFOR 3C6). The dates and the timetables for the reception are set weekly and are reported within the "Notices from Teachers" section on the website of the Department of Education Sciences.

HISTORY OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The written exam is designed to probe the knowledge gained by the student and his critical processing capabilities of the learned contents. In order to this, the exam, lasting 45 minutes, is organized into a small number of open questions. During the course of the examination, students can consult books in the program. Students have to attend the exam with the program of the current academic year in, even if they are enrolled in previous academic years. In the case of insufficient results, students will have to attend the exam again in the same manner. Examination procedures are the same also for non-attending students.
Any change to the usual teaching activities (classes and reception hours) will be indicated in the AULAWEB site. Other information It is reported that, also in the academic year 2016-2017, activities of the "Seminario di Pedagogia Generale", organized by the three Chairs of the General Pedagogy into the Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione, will continue to be done.
