OVERVIEW

The course aims to facilitate the acquisition of the main theoretical models and methods of developmental clinical psychology by future head nurse, with reference to hospital and care systems.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching of clinical psychology aims at providing a framework of clinical psychology, with a particular attention to the analysis of processes and styles communication, group dynamics and the burn-out phenomenon.

TEACHING METHODS

  1. Lectures in the presence through slides presentations 
  2. Work in small group focused on the analysis of international literature
  3. Video presentation, discussion of written work, simulation

A critical and active participation of the students will be encouraged.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The teaching aims at addressing the main issues of clinical psychology in hospital context, paying special attention to the following contents:

  • Communication skills
  • Communication processes
  • Team work
  • Burn-out
  • Leadership
  • Management case
  • Intercultural practice

Both oral and written exam

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The oral part concerns the presentation by the students of articles from international journals selected by the teacher.

The written part includes multiple choice questions.
