OVERVIEW

The course will deepen the study of modern Italian literature (poetry, prose fiction, non-fiction) and in relation to the texts and the critical methodology, and in relation to a meditated historiographical framework, suggesting a widening of the critical perspective that takes into account the parallel experiences and experiments in the areas of music and visual arts.

The course's main objective is to acquire a good knowledge of the history and texts of contemporary Italian literature.

CAPACITY 'TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students will be able to apply their knowledge and understanding and solving problems relating to contemporary Italian literature.
JUDGEMENT: Students must know how to use both at the conceptual level and at the operational knowledge gained self evaluation skills and skills in different application contexts.
ENABLE 'COMMUNICATION: Students will acquire the typical discipline technical language to communicate clearly and unambiguously with interlocutors specialists and non-specialists.
CAPACITY 'LEARNING: Students will develop appropriate learning skills to allow them to continue to independently investigate major issues of discipline especially in the workplace in which they will operate.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lessons. As per available students are required to attend at least 65% of lessons.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

1. Introduction to contemporary Italian literature.
2. Telling the school.
For the first part of the program the student will have to demonstrate a good knowledge of Italian literature of the last century, for the second the ability to move appropriately between the texts discussed in class, three of which must be read in their entirety.
The course is a laboratory integrated (1 CFU); you can take the exam only after acquiring the laboratory credit.

STUDY TEXTS:
• It is required to study a good anthology of the last year of high school in order to gain a sure knowledge of Italian literature between the beginning of the twentieth century (d'Annunzio and Pascoli excluded) to the present day. For students who do not have or wish to procure a new suggest the following reading: Giulio Ferroni, Andrea Cortellessa, Italo Pantani, Silvia Tatti, Storia e testi della letteratura italiana, Milano, Mondadori Università, 2004-2005, volumi VIII (La Nuova Italia (1861-1910), limitatamente al capitolo L’alba del nuovo secolo, pp. 551-603), IX (Guerre e fascismo (1910-1945)), X (Ricostruzione e sviluppo nel dopoguerra (1945-1968)) e XI (Verso una civiltà planetaria (1968-2005)).

Non-attending students will have to agree with the teacher the program and the methods of study that ensure the acquisition of skills required for the course before classes.
