Module “Instrumentation for Genomics and Proteomics”
Instrumentation in genomics: Overview of the most used technologies applied to genomic analysis both at the chromosomal and at the DNA sequence level.
Instrumentation in proteomics: The course aims to provide the basis for the understanding of the mass spectrometry techniques useful for proteins characterization.
Chromatographic Techniques: The unit provides an overview of the sampling procedures and chromatographic techniques used in proteomics.
Module “Advanced Microscopy”
We will cover the scientific theoretical path that moves the distance from the three-dimensional confocal fluorescence microscopy until the very recent developments in the so-called Multiphoton. Will be analyzed by confocal microscopy and its evolution towards a new mode of excitation of the fluorescence, which is of particular interest in the study of three-dimensional perishable samples such as cells and molecular systems.
