Combination of traditional lectures (80 hours) and practice at the computer activities (16 hours).
Architecture and performance of a biomedical measurements system. Characteristics of the main biomedical signals. Ultrasonic instrumentation: A-mode/ B-mode/ M-mode ultrasound, Doppler flow meters. Optical microscopy, fluorescence and confocal microscopy. Biomedical instrumentation: system radiography (X-ray, CT scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), EEG. Processing of biomedical images: punctual and local operations, filtering, co-registration, display systems, segmentation, pattern recognition, three dimensional reconstruction.
