1. Elements of vector and tensor calculus 2. Kinematics and deformation 3. Principle of Equilibrium. Local laws of statics and dynamics. Theorem of work. 4. Application to solids mechanics: constitutive equations, elements of theory of elasticity 5. Application to fluid mechanics: constitutive equations for viscous fluids, the Navier-Stokes equations, Buckingham's theorem, dimensionless governing equations, unidirectional flows, low Reynolds number flows, large Reynolds number flows, introduction to turbulent flows.
